Week 8 - Anatomy & Muscle Movement

There are three poses in this sketch and shows the muscle movement in human anatomy. Each pose took around 15 minutes each. It starts from the right to the left and you can easily see the small subtle movement in the body in terms of the muscle and posture. However, the foreshortening in the shoulder and arm look ok. Although it could be a little more clearer. Maybe if there was some evident spinal shades, them maybe it could look more muscular and could see the indenting of the back as it looks rather plain. But in terms of posture this is a great piece. Although the hand could do with more work as it looks quite abnormal and it could also be the fact the hand is too lower down from the stomach as it looks like his hand is connected to his arms at his thighs. A little high and a little more diagonal towards shoulder could make it look more better.

Week 7 - Posture, Balance & Weight

This drawing above is really good, it has a good sense of depth and light. It shows the weight is being put on the stool, even though the stool is not really relevant in this sketch, but it has to be said that it is badly drawn. Moving on, The tonal values are great, it can be seen that it is very thought out as the muscles very visible and the shapes of the arms and legs look quite good. It can be seen most of the back and side part are the most lightest values because the source of light shining onto the model. and coming quite of a dark value as it gradually comes towards the stomach and groin area.

This is a fairly nice posture as the it can be seen the model is putting most of the weight on the left leg. The legs are drawn quite good in terms of shape and muscle tone. A nice foreshortening on the elbow there but could do with a little more work in terms of detail and shape. The fingers look rather "sausage-like" and could do with an improvement. however, the tonal values are quite good as the light source is mostly shone at the back of the anatomy and the the dark value on the front.

Week 6 - Basic Human Anatomy & Proportion

This sketch took about 40 minutes, using a 4B pencil. Good foreshortening on the arm as you can tell the arm is in front of the other and it looks smaller as it is further away and the proportion looks amazing the fact the body weight is pulled down by gravity and the curvy human tissue shows great depth and detail. The tonal values on the leg and body are nice and can easily been seen. However, the leg above looks quite thin or it could how it looks from the perspective point. It's quite hard to tell but a little more improvement on the leg could be done and the toes could be in more detail so u can see the foreshortening because without them small toes it would look like a flat side view foot.

Week 5 - Foreshortening & Complex Perspectives

There is good foreshortening in this angle, although it's not that complete. The detail could be a little more improved on and the there are no values visible on the skeleton. The chest of the skeleton looks rather small and slim and should look more robust. A lot more work is needed to put into this sketch.

This is really good sketch of the skeleton. A nice foreshortening on the arm that is pointing out although the hands could do with a bit more detail. The leg and foot has also a good foreshortening as the leg in the foreground is larger than the one in the background. Good detail on the ribs and also good in terms of size and shape. Head look right size for the body and over good piece.
